We are delighted to announce that we are going to Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Our home is nestled amongst pinewoods and boasts sea views which you can enjoy from the terrace. It is just a stroll away from the Old City and just 5 mins from the beautiful Bellevue beach. Dubrovnik has been described as “the pearl of the Adriatic”, we will take time to explore the stunning city which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

 

How it works

 

Sit back, relax and let the good times roll. Your hosts Holly and Romayne have thought of every detail to make this retreat the best one yet! 

 

You will arrive on Thursday, set your bags down and have time to soak up the sun. That evening we plan to relax on the terrace with welcome drinks provided by yours truly and  enjoy a home cooked dinner at the house. 

 

 

Classes

 

Holly France and Romayne Etwaroo will be putting you through your paces, the classes will be challenging, fun, and you will be given lots of one to one attention along the way . A class description will be added before the retreat. Depending on how things go regarding Covid-19 these may be solo classes.

There will also be a short Pilates class in the mornings before breakfast to set us up for the day ahead. 

 

During our stay we will explore Dubrovnik, spend time on the beach and enjoy the local surrounds.  Don't worry you will still have some free time to enjoy as you please.

Accommodation

​

Shared rooms will be will be same sex. If you have any questions regarding this or are non-binary or trans do let us know and we will accommodate.

​

We have a few double rooms for couples, but these are very limited so please book asap to avoid disappointment. 

 

Food

 

We pride ourselves on our delicious vegetarian home cooked meals, we will take full advantage of the abundance of fresh local ingredients the area has to offer. You will not go hungry, we feed to please. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

 

Getting there 

 

The closest airport is Dubrovnik airport (DVB). There are cheap flights from a few low cost airlines. Please note, the flight prices may change due to the month purchased. We encourage everyone to book their flights as soon as possible for the cheapest fare. 

 

Please bear in mind the check in and out times of the house before organising your flights.

 

A taxi from the airport will take 25 mins and will cost roughly £15. There are a few buses from the airport (11,27,38) these will take you to Dubrovnik centre and from there you can walk for 25 mins to the property.

 

There will also be a Facebook event so people can discuss possible ride shares from the airport if preferred. This has worked well in previous years. Nearer the time there will be a WhatsApp group set up for you all as well. 

 

Check in is after 5.30pm,  Check out is 10am.

 

 

 Cost = £475 shared room, £575 single occupancy.

Covid safety regulations will be added and amended as news comes too light. Testing will be essential. 

We are going ahead as far as we can tell. Every will be required to take lateral flow tests each morning to ensure we are Covid free.

​

We have been spending the last year looking at better ways to respect this jazz dance and its history and culture, we strive to continue to learn and improve.  The Black Lindy Hoppers fund do great work building, nurturing  and strengthening black dancers within the swing scene.  Collective Voices for change have also been leading sessions on how to improve our whitewashed swing dance scene. We will be making a donation of the profits from this trip to both of them, See what they do here and why not give them a follow on social media too while your at it
