Holly France

"The delightfully subversive Holly France, whose smile alone could thaw Wenceslas Square."
Cary Gee. Tribune
Holly first found her love for swing and charleston dancing in Bath where she busked with the gypsy jazz band 'The Mandibles'. This style of dance soon became her new passion. She was soon discovered by the Charleston dance troupe The Bee's Knees and moved back to London where she continued to perform and teach regularly across the UK and Europe. She started Sugarpush Vintage dance in 2015 with her weekly class at our favorite venue The Lexington. She also run the amateur swing dance training and performance troupe The Honey Hopper's with the help of Romayne Etwaroo. Her deep love for jazz music runs deep, this being what f=drew her to swing dancing in the first place, she regularly attends live shows and is a dj on the social scene.
Having attended dance classes from am young age Holly began her full time dance training at 16 where she practiced ballet, tap, jazz, street dance and contemporary. She then furthered her study in Contemporary dance and Physical Theatre. She continues to combine the styles of her dance history in her performance and choreography.

Romayne Etwaroo

Second in command at Sugarpush HQ.

Romayne is a professional dancer working as a teacher, facilitator and performer in the UK and internationally. She was born in Coventry, taking her first steps into dance at a young age and eventually going on to study a BA (hons) in Contemporary Dance at Bath Spa University.
After completing her degree, she joined Spare Tyre on their internship programme – gaining valuable experience as a facilitator whilst creating multi-sensory theatre alongside adults with learning disabilities. Romayne then began teaching dance classes in care homes, schools, SEN schools and in various other environments with adults and children with additional needs.
Romayne’s love of swing music is the whole reason why she began swing dancing. She started assisting Swing dance classes with friend and dance partner Holly France. Since then Romayne is a regular collaborator with Sugarpush Vintage Dance as a teacher, performer and for the past 3 years curating and producing several bespoke swing dance retreats internationally. You can catch Romayne teaching weekly swing dance classes and workshops for Sugarpush and for Swingland.
