We are thrilled to announce our next lindyhop dance retreat in Cambrils, a beautiful coastal town in northeastern Spain on the 11-15th of September 2025!!! Located on the Costa Dorada in the province of Tarragona, Cambrils is known for its golden beaches, relaxed Mediterranean charm, and vibrant local culture. This picturesque seaside town offers the perfect setting for a rejuvenating and joy-filled dance retreat. You can enjoy the beaches where you can swim, unwind, or take a peaceful stroll along the promenade lined with palm trees and cafés.
Our stunning villa is surrounded by lush greenery and just minutes from the coast, this elegant villa features a private pool, spacious living areas, and plenty of charm. Relax, connect, and dance in a beautiful setting designed for an unforgettable experience with plenty of space to relax, connect, and recharge.
How it works: Sit back and let the good times roll. Your hosts, Holly, and Romayne have meticulously attended to every detail to ensure this retreat is your most memorable one yet! You will arrive on Thursday, set your bags down and have time to soak up the sun. That evening we will enjoy a welcome drink, dinner and some social dancing. During your stay we will visit local restaurants in Cambrils with plenty of free time to visit the beach and take in the local sights.
Classes: Holly France and Romayne Etwaroo are set to guide you in an engaging and demanding series of classes. These sessions promise to be both challenging and enjoyable, with a strong emphasis on personal attention for each participant. The focus will be on enhancing musicality, fostering originality, mastering rhythm, and encouraging improvisation. Participants should be at improver level or higher, and the classes will be tailored with variations to suit individual abilities and needs. It's important to note that familiarity with swingouts is a prerequisite for joining these classes.
Private lessons are available at a special discounted rate of £45 per hour. Spaces are limited, so be sure to reserve yours in advance!
Accommodation: Rooms are available for either single occupancy or shared arrangements. Shared rooms will be allocated based on the same sex, but we are fully accommodating for non-binary individuals please feel free to discuss your needs with us, it's no trouble at all. For couples and those preferring single occupancy, we advise informing us as soon as possible, as these options tend to be booked quickly.

Food: We take great pride in offering delectable vegetarian home-cooked meals, prepared with an array of fresh, local ingredients that the area generously provides. If you have any specific dietary needs, please inform us. Your chef for the retreat, Holly, brings a wealth of culinary experience as she previously worked as a chef at the acclaimed vegetarian restaurant, Mildred’s.

All your dinner/lunch reservations are planned. There will be plenty of ad hoc social dancing throughout the retreat too.
On Friday night, we’ll make a reservation at the port Cambrils, where there is the best selection of restaurants with a lively, picturesque atmosphere by the water. On Saturday, we will explore Salou which is just 7–8 km apart on Spain’s Costa Daurada. In Salou, we will enjoy lunch at the vibrant Llevant Beach, and in the evening we will visit the illuminated fountains (Font Lluminosa). We will make a reservation for dinner in Salou’s old quarter.
Getting there: To get to Cambrils from London, fly into Reus Airport (REU), which is the closest airport (about 20 km away). Airlines like Ryanair and Jet2 operate direct flights from London to Reus. From Reus Airport, you can take a taxi (20–25 minutes, a cost of approximately £35/40) or a bus (1-hour approx, £3/6 euros) to Cambrils.
For those flying into Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) (about 100 km away), there are frequent trains from Barcelona Sants station to Cambrils, taking around 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can rent a car or take a bus. As we get closer to the retreat, we will create a WhatsApp group where participants can coordinate and share rides for easier transportation.

Please take note of the check-in and out times of the house before organising your flights. Check-in is after 5.00 pm. Check-out is at 10 am.
You can reserve your space by paying a deposit to Romayne of £100. Full payment to be made before July 2025. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable unless there are extenuating circumstances that can be evidenced.

Donations: We are always looking at better ways to respect this jazz dance and its history and culture, we strive to continue to learn and improve. The Black Lindy Hoppers Fund does great work building, nurturing, and strengthening black dancers within the swing scene. Collective Voices for Change has also been leading sessions on how to improve our whitewashed swing dance scene. We will be donating from the profits from this trip to both, see what they do here and why not give them a follow-on social media too while you're at it?
